Resources & Forms

The following resources are suggested to further enhance your personal knowledge and financial well-being while in medical school. The forms provided are to request changes to your financial aid award or report any external/additional resources (e.g. stipends, outside scholarships, tuition waivers, etc.) that are not reflected in your financial aid status.

  • Federal Student Aid

    This is an official website of the U.S. Department of Education. The website acts as a “one-stop shop” that allows you to submit the FAFSA, complete the federal loans process and view your federal student loan history.
  • FERPA

    This U.S. Department of Education website provides information regarding the “Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act” (FERPA).
  • IRS for STUDENTS

    Allows you to obtain your federal tax information and provides links to helpful information regarding tax benefits for higher education.
  • AAMC’s FIRST (Financial Information, Resources, Services and Tools) Program

    • MedLoans Organizer and Calculator (MLOC) – A tool developed by the AAMC to assist medical students and residents manage their education debt by providing a secure location to organize their student loans and demonstrate possible repayment plans based on the student’s loan debt.
    • AAMC Financial Wellness – Provides access to financial calculators, articles, and videos to enhance your financial knowledge.
  • JABSOM Financial Literacy Team

    This team is comprised of 2nd year medical students to largely provide peer support to first year medical students regarding financial aid & scholarships at JABSOM. Their other key responsibility is to help promote financial literacy at JABSOM. The team is instrumental in creating an Instagram account @jabsom.finaid through which they share helpful tips and post important reminders about financial aid and scholarship deadlines. In addition, the team hosts various financial literacy events throughout the year
